Drive coupler
What is the absolute best drive coupler for a 1000 hp engine package.
Thank you for your thoughts and help on this subject. |
Go to a driveline set up and eliminate the rubber and steel couplers all together. Other than that I dont much difference in the others.
|
Thanks for your suggestion it makes total sense to eliminate the rubber. Can you suggest a reliable product.
Does income extreme use a rubber drive coupler? |
I have Merc set up but im sure Imco makes them and Stellings also used to make a kit.

Long snout steel coupler
Merc part # 861523A7 |
There was a recent post about a torque limiting coupler.
I agree with Griff on the coupler. Although I am using a short steel coupler on my boat and have not had any problems yet. The weak point will be, the XR behind it. |
Thanks so much for your suggestions guys. I would like to post a picture of the engine but can't figure out how to do that yet.

That much power to an xr you should stay with a fresh steel snout merc coupler. The rubber will absorb some stress on the drive.
