Default 496 MAG HO conversion

I have an 88 Formula F223LS with a stock mercury 350. Will a 496 MAG HO drop in without any major modifications? Will the stock Alpha 1 handle the additional power? I'm topping out at about 45gps mph now. Will I notice a significant difference with this upgrade?

Thanks,

Rich

Hey Rich! My Pachanga 22 was originally a 350 running an Alpha. I bought it with the current stroked 454 running the Alpha and had no issues but am currently doing a Bravo swap just for peace of mind. She ran mid 70's when I bought it and expect a little more after dyno work and new setup. I think only change swapping sbc to BBC will be motor mounts and exhaust configuration

it sits on same mounts. you need correct flywheel, exhaust and alt-power steering bracket. just make sure you have a couple inches in front of crank pulley with small block. you might wanna do alum exhaust, intake and maybe even heads to get weight back to the small block you took out. you will see perf increase.
