trim switch replacement, tools and whats else
Hello all,
I am doing some research possibly getting ready to pull my Bravo III drive. The problem I am experiencing is the trim button "UP" is not working on the throttle. It does work with the trailer button and goes down with the throttle button. Info on the web states its the trim switch / limit on the drive. Is there a way to actually test this switch before pulling the drive maybe checking resistance? So my questions is this, if I have to pull the drive I am planning on a complete maintenance: Gimbal bearing Gimal Bellows Throttle Bellow Trim limit Trim Switch Intake water hose Am I missing anything else? Also, I see there are some special tools that are needed to accomplish this. Are this tools really needed are are there substitutes: Hinge Pin Tool - 91-78310 Sleeve Removal Tool - 91-818169 Sleeve Installation Tool - 91-818162 Driver Rod - 91-37323 Driver Head - 91-36569 Bellow Expansion Tool 91-45497A1 Tapered Insert Tool 91-43579 Is this how most do it or is it a simple enough job to just go in for the switches and only fix whats needed. Thanks |
You need the hinge pin removal tool. everything else you can get by with a little improvisation. If your replacing the pucks, you need take the gimble apart anyways. its not that technical or anything, just a time consuming occasionally frustrating job.

Cool thanks Bondo and phragle
What other tools have you used to replace the other special tools? I have never done this before and don't want to get stuck by not having the tools to complete the job |
