I think I posted this in the wrong place earlier.
I have troubleshoot that my bravo tilt switch is not working. The gauge switch is fine but the drive will not go up with the up button. I have to use the trailer button.
I see according to the documentation that the drive has to be removed to change out the switch. Also, I see that the puck comes apart and you can access the wires in the puck. Can't I just unscrew the puck and take off the cover to test the wire or change just the puck with a new puck at this connection?
2nd option
I can see the bolt that is holding the 2 half moon pieces of the wire with the drive down and turned to the starboard side. On the inside transom I see where the wires are coming in the transom. Can't I just remove the bolt on the outside cover and replace the switches as needed, adjust each puck and be done?
Is there any disadvantage in doing it this way? Or do I have to remove the drive?

first check the wires themselves. they frequently break inside the transom assy. if that is the case, you may be looking at engine r&r to get to the wires. in WHICH case, you may be bypassing trim limit switch and being careful not to trim up too high by watching drive rise while counting one-two-three..ok enough...
