Default TRS question

Hi guys, I'm going thru my scarab 300, upon taking the boat apart I noticed drive oil in the left drive u-joint bellows, the shaft coming out the front of the drive is also wet. I'm sure it's my upper seal. Any pointers on changing this out? Also the little "cone" shaped line up piece for the oil connection was damaged on the same drive. Other than that, both drives are in good shape. Anybody know of somewhere I can buy just these parts? Thanks.

You know you have to remove the u-joint shaft to replace that seal. Also that seal can be installed at two different depths. 1/16" and 1/8". This is so in case it has worn a groove in the u-joint shaft. From factory they are installed at 1/16" so you will probably want to install the new one at 1/8" deep. When disassembling be sure to keep track of all the shims and make sure that they get back in their original place. Do you have the Mercruiser TRS Manual #5 ? If not drop me a PM with an email address and I can send you it in PDF. JIM
