Default Bam transmission forward gear clutch issues

Help I have a 2000 Hustler 388 Slingshot with BAM 1350 transmissions I have smoke 3 forward gear clutch packs in less than 10 hours of total run time.
Running Arneson surface water drives. Have MV-10-625 Ilmor engines.
Boat has a top speed of around 100 but it most commonly does 10 because Im limping back with only one transmission.
Bam transmission was new but transmission had sit for about 4 years during a total refit. 3 hours of run time. (Smoked clutches pulling out of throttle on a take off.
2nd transmission was rebuilt by BAM (Smoked clutches pulling out of throttle after only a 30 minute water test.
3rd transmission was rebuilt by local shop (Smoked clutches pulling out of throttle after the 5th time out on about 6 hours of run time.)

All times starboard engine counter rotating drive.

How do clutches get burnt pulling out of the throttles and not while under load? This is when they are working the hardest.mark at bam is an expert in my opinion on his trannys so I would think this question is better suited for him to answer and not necessarily the internet people, but I am excited to find out what is going on with this..

I am going to call Marc. But I was a little upset with BAM when i sent the transmission in for a 1700 dollar rebuild and because we got the 1350 back in January and didnt install until June they would warranty it. Our boating season doesnt start until then here in Kentucky. April at the earliest for some lakes but not on the river.

Did you use the old oil cooler or a new one?

The only time I've experienced trans failure as you describe was from input shaft alignment out of spec. Check your bellhousing to flywheel run-out with a dial indicator. (magnet base, mounted on the flywheel, indicator rod against the inner bellhousing surface) I believe it's no more than .006 BW trans need to be within alignment spec or the input shaft bushing will overheat, burn the fluid and then the clutch plates slip.
