Default Bravo 3 or Bravo 1

Hi I have a Formula 271 that used to have a bravo 1 on it before I owned it but now has a bravo 3. The boat seems a little slow. What kind of performance change should I expect between a bravo 1 or bravo 3?

Cheers Dave.

I have a Bravo 3 and from what I've read the max speed is in the 60's. We're getting 63 mph with a 7.4 mpi in a Cobalt 226. I also understand that they can take quite a bit of horsepower - very similar to a Bravo 1.

I will be honest - I really enjoy the docking experience with the Bravo 3 -

all the best

Do you know what speed difference between bravo 1 and 3?

I have a 502 mpi in the formula 271 with bravo 3 drive and bravo 3 props at 26 pitch. Running 55 mph.

Sounds like it is set up perfect.. Bravo 1 might get you 2 mph. But trying to dock it in the wind will suck.

Sound thanks for your input. I think I will stick with the Bravo 3 for the time being. Now all I need to do is get around 500HP from the 502MPI any ideas?
Cheers DC

Pro-Charger....not sure how happy the b3 will be at that point and cost of props wont be fun...If speed is what you are after I would go back to a brovo1/x/xz/xr

Now that I'm not interested in speed, a good turn key Bravo 3 on the FASTech might make a great combo!!! I would keep the Bravo 3, 271 is a heavy boat for the Bravo 1.

Keep the B3. Try a set of the XR props. They lift nicely.
