Bravo One leaking oil into the hull
 
I have a 232 Baja islander with a 6.2\Bravo one. It has the lower unit oil reservoir on the top of the motor by the belts. Somewhere it is leaking oil and it is ending up in the hull. I traced the hose all the way back to the transom and it is clean all the way back. I can't really see back there because it is so busy where the hose leads into the fitting, but I run my hand around there and it is clean. Has anybody experienced this? Where could it be leaking? It's frustrating. And it doesn't matter if it is running or not. It will leak just sitting there...and it is inconsistent oh how much it will leak too.

Probably the seal on the drive,,,,, pull the drive and see if the bellows is full of oil

if the bellows has oil inside it is the drive shaft oil seal , its not a big deal to replace it.,but the drive must be removed.

Not a difficult job to repair, but you have to know what the procedure is or you can easily make things a lot worse.

Usually, when mine starts to puke oil from the input seal, it's from too much metal in the lube and the gears are going south....

or from corrosion that kills the input shaft seal. Also if corrosion has taken place and it only has to be lightly - it can pit the shaft area where the seal rides on. This will leak regardless even if you put a new seal in. It only talks a small amount of pitting or roughness or wear for the seal not to seal properly.

You can install a sleeve over the yoke where the seal rides and repair that pitting or excessive wear on the shaft.
Abs,
I would pull the drive and take a look if there is any oil in the bellows. Then go from there.
