Tapping case for drive shower
I thought I saw a drive that the billet cap/shower that was plumbed into the side of the drive...Was I mistaken and if not does it work or affect anything?? My last boat I had my intercooler water plumbed to my cap. This boat doesn't have that option...

The water needs to wash over the drive not plumbed inside it. I have the kind that bolt on to the drive without drilling any holes.

my best guess in what you saw was in a boat converted to a thru hull water pickup for engine cooling. They then tapped the water supply from the drive pickup and used that as the shower,

Yeah I have a thru hull pickup on mine and the side of the drive is tapped and plumbed to the drive shower cap to use the lower water pickup of drive

Ok I have a Stupid question I have been considering adding a drive shower to my twin bravo set up. But at what point would you guys say it is a necessity? I have looked at the ones from The SIMREK Corporation that say they require no drilling of the drive. Has anyone ever heard or used this type. Thanks for the feedback!!!

Good points . I didnot think about the siphoning effect. I'm actually thinking a transom pickup, then Y it off to both drives. The boat I have now is good for long distance runs and I know that is cooking the oil. I use a great additive which works great but want to put those billet caps with the shower on this one also.
