I can't answer your question about the size of the tube so you might have to try a few different sizes to see if it helps out with your problem , When I asked about installing some on my drives I was told it was for boats that had big props and could not spin them fast enough it get it on plane and was told it would not help me and what I needed was more blades or cup on the props that I had to get it up on plane faster

Nice setup! What's your prop numbers? Does it have trouble getting up on plane?
Here is my setup. This was taken with the 25 4 blades but I am currently running the 29.5 3 blades and the boat behaves so much better!
I won't have time this year but I might throw together some tubes for next year just to try them, at least it would answer the question. If they don't work I can always take them off easy enough!

The props I have now are 17" dia x35 16'rake . If I compare the plane time with when it had bravo's yes it's a longer amount of time to plane off . but I know if i treated the bravo's like i am treating the arnesons they would be all busted up again

You got me I timed it all day and I was averaging about 20 seconds and we had a small craft warning out on the swamp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1_Re99v8RE

As a test you should try to put your hands on a set of 3 to try? I would love to see how it behaves!
