Anybody heard of a Bravo Jack Plate?

About 10 long years ago I was a t a boat show in Houston and someone had some brochures of a bravo on a kinda stand off box jack plate.
I was wondering if anyone has ever seen one or heard of it?
Seemed like a good idea.
Any info would be great from anyone.
Thanks.

Land and Sea Stern Jack

Long out of production. There are some threads on them here on OSO.

Magic 12-10-2014 12:17 PM

I'm new to the forum.. how do i find OSO?
Thanks

97FASTech 12-10-2014 12:24 PM

OSO is the acronym for this site, OffShoreOnly.com. Use the search function.

Sorry, stupid question. Thanks.

Magic 12-10-2014 12:39 PM

Ive seen the Land and sea stern jack.. looks like not such a good idea.

I have a 22 scarab.. complete rebuild inside and out, transom, stringers fuel cell, upholstery etc... was outboard powered but Im a sterndrive guy and have a 454 with B&M 144.. was trying to figure out where to cut my X dimension for best results. I have a standard Bravo 1 and hydraulic Marine Machine dual ram already.
Wouldnt it be nice to just have a jack plate! Lot of work to just play with ya know.

Magic 12-10-2014 12:45 PM

Yea, that land and sea thing seems to NOT change X dimension.

Knot 4 Me 12-10-2014 01:15 PM

The Stern Jack would be a neutral extension. An adjustable (up/down like a jack plate) stern drive would be cool!

Magic 12-10-2014 01:17 PM

Well, stay tuned... :)

phragle 12-10-2014 03:16 PM

adjustable standoff box.

Magic 12-10-2014 03:26 PM

is there such a thing that you can adjust after installation?

Sydwayz 12-10-2014 03:50 PM

Other interesting and relevant topics:

http://www.xpowerdrive.com/site56/home.html
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/d...owerdrive.html

Here is the thing: the mechanics of the Bravo drive system is not designed to move the driveshaft coming out the engine up or down; which is what you would be talking about. It only has one "flexor" in it; not two.

So the best thing to do is a pick an X-dimension that is somewhat in the middle of where you expect to be, and rely on short drives or spacers down the road for fine tuning.

Hows business?

phragle 12-10-2014 05:16 PM

The ultimate in adjustability would be the sage drive. Though I think I remember some standoff boxes being adjustable but only by an inch or two..

The sage drive is sick..... I dont get why they never really caught on....

OH, I wasn't gonna put that on my boat.. Trust me.. but heck--- 2-4 mph is pretty good for a bolt on washer\shim\spacer thing. I'll bet the gimbal ring just loved it.

HP gimbal ring and hydraulic steering would be a must if you ran one.

Magic 12-11-2014 01:56 PM

I totally agree and understand BUT I am not even considering one at all for my project. You got any idea how a nubi like me can load a profile picture?

Knot 4 Me 12-11-2014 02:05 PM

Profile pic or avatar? Two different things but both can be done through the settings tab.

Magic 12-11-2014 02:12 PM

avatar.....

Thanks in advance for the help ...

Dominator24 12-11-2014 09:32 PM

the L&S SJ mounts after the gimble housing so any up or down trim will result in more motion up or down due to the extended length/offset of the drive

Magic 12-12-2014 10:43 AM

True BUT no X Dimension change, just angle.
