it's called humor man..

as I stated proper prop selection is what will take a #5 boat from an impossible pain in the azz to drive to a proper planing well mannered high performance machine... and guys quit comparing a speedy boat to a bravo/TRS boat... its like comparing the ride of a caddi to a lambo... like really? ultra high performance is just that... it takes patients, finesse and money to get the right combination figured out... this is half the reason people like myself want big bucks for our boats... we've already done all the work!!! and trial and error

Adk what will that 43 run with the 5s and 1100. Did you by chance build engines for the old gotta go scarab. Someone in Ontario built them that's my old boat that's why I was asking.

adk61 01-07-2015 12:00 PM

no sorry wasn't me... Dan Macnamara and I have been working on a combination for stagger configuration and setup for my 43... we figure 115mph should be a fairly easy number to reach... 120+ on a wish and prayer lol

adk61 01-07-2015 12:01 PM

if I leave it side by side with #5s and 10" boxes we figure 105ish it runs close to 100 now and I haven't yet played with the tuneup

Mad Mac 01-07-2015 12:06 PM

Ok I thought maybe you might have built those for dave spotto. Back in the day. Well for what it's worth the 38 I had best it ran was 106 on the ragged edge 6200 rpm and light on fuel by myself since no one else had the balls to ride. 588 with 8 psi boost running race fuel mix. Same style hull and #5s but this was a side by side boat so you should see a lot better staggered.

my boat also has a full cabin A/C and a 4.5KW cast Iron Onan genset... boat weight is approx 14K with a load of fuel in it!! big difference to your 38... I will also be putting my 43 on a diet!! lol

Sounds like an awesome rig!!! I am shooting for the century mark, if it hit 105, I'd sh!t bricks.
