BUP - you are correct. I have not pulled a drive before. I am pretty mechanically inclined with motors, so this is something that I want to research to see if I can do myself. Most of what I have done on my diesel and gas autos has been done by learning via threads like this. I realize a truck and a boat are two different beasts. I am not hellbent on doing this myself, but I wanted to do some due diligence to make sure this isn't a simple fix that a shop would charge me 2-3 hours to fix.

I also have a sour taste in my mouth from a few local shops, so the idea of doing it myself is even more appealing. I see you a relatively close to me, can we touch base via email/phone to discuss further about this as well as shop options? I tried PM'ing you but it was full.

My wife and I have a baby due within a month, so we are hoping to get on the water mid august.

Thanks for all of everyone's input.

I am super busy with everyone that has hit me hard. I have to take a lot breaks and it is frustrated at times working out of the house, not what I am use to but manage when weather is decent. . Also, I am swapped with mobile repairs from Texoma to PK to Granbury to Bridgeport. I quit taking on work but if you like you can come by and I could look at your boat for a bit and let you borrow a service manual after I dig it out. I have them all but they are in storage. One thing is I do not loan out tools sorry about that one. The manual will tell you what tools are needed along with part #'s or I can order them to sell to you. . I DO HAVE the seal kits upper and lower in stock along with outdrive mounting gasket kit. Also the deal is if one outdrive is leaking the other one is not far behind.

I won't charge you a dime. We will drain the oil and pressure the test drive(s) and if needed pull the drive(s) and you go home with everything. That's the best I can do plus I do not have a spot for you to park and or leave the boat. I am out of room for the next 3 months. When one boat leaves another boat is on its way.

IMO this might be less time to do this rather emailing back and forth. Your call
