Wow very interesting on the Severe Gear clutch cone issues...... I was about to make the switch to the Amsoil SG 75-140 with lucas oil additive. Looks like that may not be the better option ??

How long do you have to break a drive in prior to switching to Neo/Amsoil/Redline? I've been told to break in with merc oil.

Wonder why more of us don't run oil temperature gauges on our drives. Seems like it be a good idea to monitor the temp of the oil while running.

And I have the temp gauges and senders and all the wiring as a new complete kit for gear oil / outdrive temp monitor reading. I have 2 demo kits that I have been testing to make sure they hold up and stay accurate over the long haul. More info to come. These are very nice kits I promising you that,

All complete and pricing will be around the 260 to 290 shipped to your door when I am done testing. If all still goes well. I want a full season of testing time before I start offering them.

With wireless and smart phone apps, we should find a techno nerd on the site and hook us up ! Would be awesome.

^^^^^ Ok thanks I am trying to incorporate a gauge that is a plug in and have the wiring harness portion changed to a plug in as well instead of hard wire connections. Its a work in progress plus trying to keep cost down and keep reliability up. Hard to do these days but trying. Man one company I worked with to get this complete package done wanted around 700 bucks my cost. I had to tell them I will not be able to sell these at that price to the end user so I will have to look else where. I know you get what you pay for but I am still exploring the options.

I am purchasing a boat with Teague Platinums on it and they (Teague) recommend severe gear 75-110. I will be going with that as soon as I get it home.

So Standard Amsoil Marine for Bravo 1's behind 330 hp ea. will suffice?

Yes it will work great, I use severe gear in mine, No problems at all, read the tech. data on Amsoil webpage, the impact & shear resistance is much higher than non severe gear oil.
