Default -2 Outdrive performance gains

So I posted this in the general forum and in hindsight I guess I should have put it here

I'm considering buying a -2 shorty for my 21 foot Schiada but am not all that familiar with them. Is there a rule of thumb on speed gains from converting to a shorty ? I've also read this can cause issues getting on plane. Currently the boat spins a 26p and runs 75-78. Any and all info on a shorty is greatly appriciated.

You need to see if someones done this before on your hull, on my 272 it slowed it down and boat became evil over 95 mph and almost ejected me. Fwiw, Smitty

You might need a 5 blade if your already running a 4 blade, i tried one and immediately sheared off a billet max worx prop shaft (1000+) ft lbs of tq though
