Has anyone taken a stock input shaft and had it shortened to run in a -2 drive? The reason I ask is you can buy all of the internals (shafts, gears, seals, ect) from SEI for $550. You can't even buy a vertical shaft from IMCO for that. From what I have read on here, guys have had really good luck running their gears. I'm not turning mega hp, so I don't see why these shafts are not good enough for my set up. I'm just curious about modifying the vertical shaft.
