Looks like I can't edit my post or upload pics to a new post. Shoot me an email and I can send you a pic with the dimensions for where to drill the holes.
Hope that helps. Dick Ok.. just doesn't work in IE11. Let me see if I can post the picture.. Looks like Chrome is the answer! Now you can add as many side holes as you like. The more you add, then you could block some of the lower slots. On the DWP case there are 5 small holes in the nose and the side holes. On the LWP there are large slots. So a balance could be found to accomplish what you want to do. Hope that helps. Dick |

Thanks Mr. G.
Padraig - Like Mr. G said On the DWP case there are 5 small holes in the nose and the side holes. On the LWP there are large slots. So a balance could be found to accomplish what you want to do. Hope that helps. |
FYI....I tried the reverse, I changed my gear-cases from SWP to DWP. Result: I lost speed and it caused cavitation burn on the nose cone of the lowers I presume from a vacuum created during high speed operation, actually caused air to envelope the nose cone and burn the paint off it. Went back to SWP and no more issues. Some boats just weren't designed for a DWP. My .02. I would buy an SEI DWP lower before modifying a good Merc unit.
