Bravo drive with 575sci
Question for you guys should i stay with Bravo outdrives with HD internals with Mercury 575sci? Also would nosecone or a shortie lower unit be worth it? It is a 35 Fountain lightning btw
Thanks |
Interested here. What do you run with the 575s as is?
|
The '02 Fountain Lightning I just sold had XR's with Hydromotive nose cones. I had it to 98mph. New owner pushed it to crack 100mph (GPS) last week.
575's Mild roller cam Small blower pulley (AZSM) Eddie Young ECU tuning 32' Maximus props (I believe is what new owner put on it) Fast f*n boat! |
I just sold my 02 Lightning 35 with 575s. New cam, smaller puullys and Teague Super Chillers. Did 109mph at sea level and 98mph at 5,100 feet. XR drives with Imco lowers 30" 5 blade Maximus lab finish from BBlades
|
Did super chillers fit under the hatch?

Had an 03 35 with AZSM upgraded 575's. Added nosecones to stock XR lowers, ran Mercury labbed 32 Maximus at 103mph.
Before adding nosecones, with stock 32P Bravo props, the boat would stop accelerating but would still increase rpm's once I got into the mid 90's. Added the nosecones and 5 blade props and gained top speed as well as better cruise speed at 3500rpm. Purchased -2 Imco lowers but never installed them as the boat got traded towards my current ride. These boats have a pretty high X dimension, I don't think the couple mph gained up top would have been worth the decrease in driveability. Never had any drive failures, did swap gears and shim drives every other year. Next owner of boat never broke a drive either, last we had talked. |
I ran a 97 Awesome Cat with 625's with Bravo's with no issues. I wasn't out racing all the time, but from time to time I would run up over 100mph. Never hammered it hard, always eased into it.
|
Maximus's will run slower with the -2 IMCO lowers, they will run better with standard length drives. Bravo IX conversions are always an option, rated at 1200 HP, All American Drive in Adrian Michigan can take care of that for you.
|
How difuclut was it to install the nose cones also what did you have to do with the low water pickup

I run 900 HP run mine with a 15.25X29P Maximus, and it runs perfectly, it just strong as an NXT #6.

Mine is the XV/Bravo IX (Stage IV) built and assembled by Powequest R&D with AADS back in 2004 before XRs were available to the public, the XV Extended Drive is basically indestructed for speed and power, the transmission will hold any shift and hold any power with my whipple 525 EFI (10 PSI) and the Bravo IX is a completely 1.25" cynogenic drive with the internal frozen at over 150 degrees below zero, this will double the tinsel strength of reciprocating parts in the drive, and a Maximus is a big prop to boot. 100 MPH at 6000 RPM. X Mod*Full Tower, Mercury Steel Ribbed Top Cap, Chromoly Spanner Nut & Seal Retainer, XR Custom Gear Set, XR Custom Shower Cooler, AADS high tensile strength alloy clutch shaft, Sportmaster Custom Lower Case, and REM Polish Selected Components. Phase Four drives receive the AADS high tensile strength alloy clutch shaft and drive shaft with 1.25 prop shaft with billet carrier assembly and coupler *Critical and selected components are also Cryogenically treated and REM polished for maximum performance.
|
Looks like I should sell my teague 980s and #6s and go with a 900hp 525s with bravos, sounds like a much better package. Sounds bullet proof.

Call me a liar again you piece of trash and I'll hunt you down, boatless whore that fits you perfectly. All of those drive were bravo conversions hd parts in the bravo shell, the XR/HD shell as you put it didn't come out until 2006, I put all the IMCO logos on the drive because all of the parts went in the drive, the drive had no logos because it was a concept drive from MR, here it is in it's original form. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater.

Let's ask ourselves this... Bravos, Xrs, NXTS, #6's... who gives a f*ck if you won't even run your boat in the water your boat is meant to run! Boyne Thunder had real water, and 109 boats, a lot of them #6 and #8 boats, turned around and chose to run in 2 ft max lake waves. Don't dawg a guy about his drives when you won't run your boat in water worthy of big power drives. That's like driving a vette in a 25 MPH zone only.

Scott! Is that you?!?! I haven't heard from you since you set me a message on Facebook threatening to kill me, my wife, and two boys in our sleep because I corrected you regarding your delusions about what a 1075 is capable of. I hope things have been going well for you and you enjoy walking while you still can. Hope to see you soon! :bestwishes: |
