Im converting what was offshore ski-boat, here is Oze its 6.3m, originally fitting with outboard, now massarged the transom and stingers, fitting bronze 1:1 arneson 1720/1722/ASD6 not sure as cant find any markings other than arneson cast into drive
cut the hole, added wedge, and just trial fit to get the wedge angle correct at 12 degrees
Trial fitted Hallcraft Z-Drive inside transom to check height, [
The reason I chose this as have 6 sets of gears over/under drive which was going to use, although looking at the height of how the Z-drive is I maybe able to get away without using it
was going to use a crash gearbox in front of either natural aspirated 560 ci BBC, or Turbo 502 ci

Im actually not sure of the hull it was a chopped down 26' as far as I can make out, have tried to track down originally builder, but given up
Trying to figure out where the engine should go and how boat will sit in water

Not many arneson drive used down under.
The boat needs to be used in harbour open water so needs to take a wave, as are short of lakes and rivers where I am

anyway hard grind with fibre glassing nearly over, transom wedge needs to be epoxy to transom and then can start to finish transom off, and start the fit out
Im starting with empty hull there were no mechanical parts that came with boat, all fun and games

That should be a fun project! Is there a build thread? If not you need one!

yes looks fun, however after 3 months fibreglassing and involving the wife holding the fabric while trying to glass at mid-night, you realise why know one gives you a price on rebuilding the transom and stringers when the hull has some rot
I haven't started a build thread
is it possible to post a few pictures of the engine, gearbox setup, juts interested in distances, positions etc

that classic is a nice boat,

Brett, that sure looks like a Sonny Levi hull design.

sorry about that had some issues loading them yesterday need more practise
there is 2 copies of levi hull which use to race here in Melbourne back in 70-80's, this was 24' wooden boat run by Colin Pratt,
I understand possible 3 glass boats were taken form original hull, but then trail goes dead

have a clipping of the original boat which was for sale in 1984
and then recent pics of motor setup over weekend
