Are these any good? I read parts are hard to find? I really don't know a thing about these type drives
I only know about my bravo XR ITS on my 26 Daytona. I'm looking to go to a 35-37 foot offshore, here in the pacific, and a couple of the boats I'm interested in have these #5's. I assume they take a transmission.

Since I`ve had my #4`s .. in 4 years they`ve needed more work and $$ than any bravo boat I`ve had . 2 complete rebuilds, blown out front seals at least 4 times, lost a prop due to a prop shaft breaking, expensive and hard to find decent props. Right now going on 3 months and still waiting on teh lower , the prop shaft impossible to find. Second set of lower gears since they are worn out...
Thought I was buying a drive that would not need any work ..WAP WAP WAAAAA!!!
Good luck finding decent parts for a drive that went obsolete 20 years ago.

Can you take a look at this ad, there is a good pic of the engines, where are the trannys? Sorry for my ignorance, I assume the trans is just neutral , drive, and reverse , I have seen pics of them, they are small, do they connect to engine? Or right at the transom? Like on this staggered boat, the forward engine, is the trans on the engine and only a drive shaft runs back to the gimbal?
