Default Bravo Drive Shaft Extension Carrier Bearing Temps

I am looking for some information from someone with a Staggered Bravo set-up.
I just replaced the carrier bearing assembly that bolts to the inner transom assembly in lieu of the bell housing on a the forward or center motor.
I used a new "from Mercury" unit, not a rebuilt unit .
After running for 10 or 15 minutes of running, the housing is getting very hot to the touch. It's not cooking the grease out but seems to be hotter than I would expect.
Has anyone experienced this or even taken a temperature reading before?
Any feedback or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

did you re install the conical special washers and hammer strike the bolts prior to verifying alignment.
(there is a specific set of steps to follow when installing / re installing the hanger,)

did you grease the new bearing to make sure that its full
that sounds like a lot of heat, so alignment or lack of grease is my bet

service manual 39, book 7 drivelines / jackshafts,
looks like a 2 man job "rotate alignment tool while torquing the rear bearing carrier bolts
i'm just skimming, but it looks like the drive shaft is to be clocked and marked prior to removal so it goes back in with its u joints 90 to the drive ujoints
