I put 900+ hrs on My Bravo X's behind Yanmar 6LP diesels used quite a few different props. The Maximus do clunk like a M'fer when shifting, the Bravo's and Eco Enertias don't clunk at all when shifting. I think that the Maximus are harder on the drives overall, since they hook up so well. My boat rarely leaves the water and only runs 60 WOT.
People tend to get hung up on slip numbers and the truth is lower slip doesn't always mean better performance. In my case the Maximus give more speed at a given rpm but worse MPG and higher EGT than other props. I actually get better top end and mpg with the Bravo even though the slip is higher than the Maximus.
