Imco Sc lower question
has anyone hurd of the Imco Sc lower blowing the Intake Manifold gasket ??? I put a imco leg on my boat ran great ! just the other weekend it seems to be burning a little water , has anyone else ever hurd that you need to put a pressure relief to keep the psi down??? thanks guys

They definitely will increase water pressure, as the low water intake slot is so big . I blew hoses a couple of times before I installed a pressure relief valve and water pressure gauge,

hey
for whatever reason now I seem to be getting a little water into the motor for some reason , not totally sure where its coming from but deff not from block so I'm guessing intake manifold or head gasket? any input

I would pull the exhaust manifolds first and check them out. I know that is not related to the Imco , but I would eliminate that first.'
Pull the plugs and look for white or very clean looking plugs. You could be getting reversion. Look closely at the manifolds where they meet the head. It should not be wet or washed looking. |

plugs are fine and no spots by manifolds where they mount up ! everything looks good there

Sorry, I didn't understand what you meant when you texted me last night. You need to get a pressure relief valve, install if after the oil cooler. Due to how IMCO has their water pick up you can build excessive pressure, at the speeds you are running, you certainly will build excessive pressure. Both CP Performance and Teague sell them. For my engines I bought the water line T and then use the thru-hull with the pressure valve built in.

Sorry for the hi jack but what is the max pressure you recommend for a closed coolant system? 496 if it matters

Now I am getting imco lowers and puttng them on my brovo uppers. My motors are 500efis with stock water pumps. Should I put a something befor the pump. Don't see how the pressurewould be higher after the pump.

The pump can only take what the rpms alow the impeller to pump at any givendors time I would think. Then again what the hell do I know. Lol
