I would pull the exhaust manifolds first and check them out. I know that is not related to the Imco , but I would eliminate that first.'
Pull the plugs and look for white or very clean looking plugs. You could be getting reversion.
Look closely at the manifolds where they meet the head. It should not be wet or washed looking.

Sorry, I didn't understand what you meant when you texted me last night. You need to get a pressure relief valve, install if after the oil cooler. Due to how IMCO has their water pick up you can build excessive pressure, at the speeds you are running, you certainly will build excessive pressure. Both CP Performance and Teague sell them. For my engines I bought the water line T and then use the thru-hull with the pressure valve built in.

I think I was running around 15 psi, I only ran the boat twice with this set-up. Then I parted it all out, because I bought a different boat, which is not in the water yet. As far as closed cooling, no idea what is safe with them.

Now I am getting imco lowers and puttng them on my brovo uppers. My motors are 500efis with stock water pumps. Should I put a something befor the pump. Don't see how the pressurewould be higher after the pump.
