Bmax . I'd suggest talking to John at bravo shop. Most people that bad mouth them have never owned them and are repeating hearsay or are talking about 10 years ago before John bought the company. I will be buying a set this week. JOHN HAS NEVER HAD A SINGLE BROKEN GEAR SET WITH A BMAX!!!

they do bolt right up to bravo transom. There are some mods that need to be made. Tie bar needs shortened. Back cap needs drilled for steering. New reservoir. Shift cable needs shortened and setup. I'd suggest having John set it up if you are halfway close

Good to know there is a bit more mods than just a simple bolt-on. I have two sitting in my garage that will be going on my 380 PQ once the power level goes up.

I'll have to call John and get any instructions/parts once I am ready.

I've heard good things. Was mostly concerned with shift cable, driveshaft and installed height compared to bravo one. My drive is already pretty high at stock configuration. I figure I'm going to toast mine so saving up $ for bmax

Smile Straight cut gears vs helical

My experience on my boat where I replaced standard bravos with xr's is that the xr's are just as fast if not slightly faster than the standard bravos. Same props, same engines.
