I agree 100% if it was $45 it's cheap insurance compared to thousands if something gets hurt!

to run a bit - the gear oil reservoir only needs a couple of oz. and the drive needs to be filled - you are looking at 20 to 25 bucks max for quality gear oil. I would leave gear oil in the drive while it sits because you want the corrosion protection
