Default Replacement for SSM3As

Seeking for advice.

My SSM3As are coming towards the end of their life expectancy and I am looking for an affordable replacement, preferrably also avoiding redoing the transom if possible. Is there anything out there in the big world that I should seek after? No need to tolerate massive power, they'd sit behind a Formula 357 SR-1 with 2 500hp engines. Very little WOT use with these gas prizes either...

OK, thanks. Am I right to assume then that there is nothing from this millennium that would be a straight forward bolt-on solution?

I agree with Tim. A 3A with only 500 hp to it, should never wear out. That drive is good for 1000 hp. What makes you say it's wearing out?

Wearing out = massive corrosion due to lack of care and proper anodes by the previous owner. Obviously I could have them completely overhauled, but I’m not really trusting that I can find a competent workshop for that with a reasonable cost here in Finland. Also worried about the slipping screw threads in the lower oil change holes... spare parts are also not available at all locally as the drives are likely to be the only ones in the country...

I see, so rare to see a Formula with SSM.... if I recall Konrad made a direct replacement for them, not sure if that's true

You could replace them with a set of #5's. I happen to have a set of really clean fresh water 5's, ext boxes, 2" spacers, wing plates, tie bar and steering ram ext I'm going to be listing soon.
