Default staggered bravo guys might know this

or anyone, staggered / jack-shaft, techs, anyone !

just to gloss over what's going here, the engine get's mounted 12 inches forward of stock location and uses
an imco12 inch extension box shaft on the drive.

the boat is ready for the engine installation, but need a depth mark on the custom made alignment tool i have.
(so i can be sure the engine goes the 12 inches required and i get correct shaft / spline depth)

using a 454 block w/ crank, bearings, flywheel and coupler to set alignment

only way i can think to do it is :
set engine w/ bell hsng on inner t-assy, insert alignment tool and mark it.
if i had a rolling gantry this wouldn't be too much of an issue, but this is happening single handed & w/ out
big items that would make this a breeze.

i have a complete bravo driveline set up that at this point isn't getting used, and my question is,

since the bearing carrier that mounts on the inner transom plate uses the standard length input shaft on the drive,
could i put that bearing carrier on and get my depth measurement on the alignment tool ?

in other words, do you think (or better yet know), that the female splined coupler in the bearing carrier
is in / at the same depth as the coupler is on the engine ?

it will no doubt save me 2 days of work.

thanks

thanks,
it makes sense the two would be the same depth,
but since it made sense, i had to throw it out there because nothing is that easy.
