Default Restoring uniform finish on lowers - SSM

Anyone,

Not looking to "polish" the lowers, but looking to restore the consistent finish of the aluminum lowers. What is the process and product used to do this? I do not want to paint them. Appears to be just bare aluminum. I have some stains on mine from product (think wax drips) staying on there and needs to come off. Just a good round of scotch-brite? What about sharkhide aluminum cleaner?

(did a search, found nothing) Thanks.

I use a red scotchbrite pad with some lime away. Works well

I work for a architectural metal refinishing company and this is what we use on stainless and aluminum.

Default Aluminum Refinish

Both of the above responses seem worthy of consideration. I might try Barkeepers friend with a scotchbrite pad, the pads come in different grits that you try to get the look you want.

Joe - does it shine or leave a satin finish? Again, NOT looking to polish/shine, looking for uniform aluminum (satin) finish only, low maintenance.

Eagle mag aluminum wheel cleaner. Spray on rinse off give brand new stain alum look. It's an acid . It'll hit you if you breath it
