Drill holes into XR for steering cap?

I had a bravo 1 with an incomplete hydrologic steering. On 26 foot single. 1 ram on each sid of the drive.
I recently purchased an xr and notice only the 2 top caps fit. Do I have to drill out the bottom holes for the steering cap holes and create threads?

wish i knew about drilling into the drive prior to buying my kit, would have gone w/ a different manufacturer.

You just by the stepped drill bit from imco and use the cap as the jig. Simple and cheap. You would have to be a real idiot to screw it up. Jeff wurl
