Not that I recommend it.. If I HAD the $$ I'd be running an SCX with the dual downshaft lower ;)
30 hours thus far with 1020 hp in a 29' single and I DON'T baby it.. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9cb3d1d2c8.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...54f5db7ad7.jpg I just give my drive a big hug when I make it back to the dock.. (and check the magnets, run good oil and change it frequently) |

Every two years? How many hours would be a better measurement. When we lived in Indiana two years could be 50 hours. Here, I have put 60 hours on since Oct 28th, and we haven’t boated much. My buddy drives his boat like a grandma in a mini van, dam gears keep pitting. 525’s in a 35 fountain. Who wants a performance boat that you drive like a crusier? |

100-130 hours was the consensus with 600’s. Which could be a lot of years for some, couple years for others. And your last sentence is spot on, who does that? |
Run some drive guardians n have a spare. There relative cheap drives 1000 hs in a 29. . It won’t last but will help. 900 to 1000 on a xr. Forget about it 😁 |
