i have a boat with a single B2x and am considering a swap to a 3x lower to get a bit more lift and efficiency. I know I could be asking for headaches, but the gains in lift and speed are said to be impressive and I think the x drives have come a long ways from years ago. I see they’re offered with 370 hp diesels now. Any ideas on where to start with propping and best gear ratio? Currently, B 2x 1.81:1 with 21p prop. Engine is Yanmar 6lp. Boat cruises at about 20 knots at 3200 but takes a while to get all of the way on step.
