I've been putting this off over a year, but I've finally got one of my engines out, and the other ready to pull on my 86 panther with 454s. I'm upgrading to some 72c transmissions I bought last year off a member.
I'll be using the trs tail stock and bell housings from the 71c trannies. I've never pulled one of these apart, so I figured I'd just ask and see if there is anything I should pay attention to when swapping everything over and reinstalling. I'm thinking it would be a good time to clean the coolers as well. I'm not looking for a guide, but just wanna put the question up in case there is something like pump orientation I need to pay attention to, or some seals that are delicate etc.. Thanks!

hello,,
i swapped my 71 s for 72 s years ago in 33 scarab.
there is a difference of 3/4 to 1 inch between the 71 and 72.
they was a few others post in here recently about same thing.
unless someone else knows a trick, u will have to move your engine mounts.
why are u swapping tail shafts???
