Bravo reservoir empties after running fairly hard

I was able to make another run and opened the hatch as soon as I slowed down and I could see the oil streaming down the transom by the top of the reservoir. I’m just going to get a new reservoir and cap to be sure. At $85 a gallon for NEO oil it’s a cheap investment. Where’s a good place to get merc parts?

Also, BAMM is a sponsor here and is an active member. Great people.

Have bought lots of parts from both.

My snowmobile experience tells me best practice is not to get the oil level high enough where it contacts the inside of top of the cap. The oil seems to gum up the valve in the cap over time. In the sled world, this can cause the oil to stop flowing into the motor and boom ! This is oil injected two strokes. But the cap vent is the same deal as these outdrive oil reservoirs.

Replace Reservoir and Cap , the float in the reservoirs goes bad after while and you have to replace
the reser to fix it anyhow .
Besides it will be nice and clean and clear , not yellow and nasty like the old one .

I ordered a new cap, the reservoir looked good. George thought maybe the shift cable was out of adjustment so I bought the tool to check it again.
