I did, and most of the tutorial info as well.

I'll post up a link when I get close to a desktop....rather a pain to do do it on the phone.

It's pretty funny...I'm trying to visualize the KC Marine cooler from description, so I can fab one up.

But I keep coming back to the concept of remote pump, cooler and reservoir.

I can have a look to see if KC Marine upped pressure as standard practice.

Though, if we treat the Merctrans as what it is, an automatic C6 Ford transmission, then all the same power adder tricks should apply.

Essentially, all the power from the engine is transmitted to the drive with the trans clutch pack and friction created from the pressure applied to the clutch plates. More pressure gives more friction, and more power holding capacity.

The Merctrans should, at optimum, remain at 175 degrees or below, with 195 degrees being the maximum operable temperature.

There are some earlier copies of the website that has other good info.

Lower RPM operation is hard on the clutch, with lower pump pressure,vs. prop thrust resistance.

Lugging the Merctrans is also hard on it. Propping to the upper RPM for your engines needs, particularly important in the lower RPM operation, where pump pressure is low with a big prop to boat ratio.

No Photos of the Gatling Cooler that I could find.

My thoughts, are that a remote cooler, and pressure pump would be a good fir to this trans. It would also add fluid capacity.
