Default Bravo one gimble ring and pins

I've pulled my gimble rings using a kit I bought from JRmarine.com and cut open the steering area, disassembled the gimble rings. (so they are off) the factory pins are metal and the gimble ring is sloppy, JR Marine says they can weld them up and re machine them, which they have done several thousand of them, They are suggesting I buy the replacement pins which are $250 each they are PH175 hardened stainless steel. www. jrmarine. com/products/hp_parts. htm I can go buy a stainless steel pin made with 304 stainless steel, for $55 each. My old steel pins didn't show much wear, and my guess the $55 stainless steel one won't either. should I use the $55 pins that are stainless steel and save almost $390 (twins and the boat is used in fresh water) The boat is a 1999 30 foot baja, Rack stored in my yard. I'm planning on buying new pins just trying to decide to spend $110 for two or $500 for two of them.
