Default NA BBC/Imco Xtream Sc idle issue..

Happy New year fellas, I’ve been having a little issue the last couple summers, nothin big just more of a item of interest. I have a set of Corretti built N/A 1050cfm Carb’d 580/780 solid rollers motors 10:1, and timing locked at 34 (IIRC) in front of a set of Imco Xtream Sc drives in my Cafe. I’ve set the hot idles @ 800rpm motors run beautifully; Joe just built these the winter of 17/18. I have a little trouble when I put them in gear while maneuvering around the dock, they end up wanting to fall on their faces after too long if i dont bump the idle or put them in neutral and clean them out. Now I realize this could be a motor and/or ignition question but I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this? I set the idles at 800 as per imco’s instructions for cone clutch life but have also read 900rpm is perfectly acceptable. Thoughts? Griff? Thanks.

Idle at 800 rpms in neutral??? or in gear???

900 rpms in neutral will be fine and I wouldn't have any concerns

Had similar issue years ago with a 454 Mag that had a cam change. Wee bit to much cam and had a reversion issue at idle. Bumped idle speed up and it improved. I don't remember what the idle speeds before and after were but guessing issue with 750-800 in gear before and 800-850 after?
