Yup same stuff. They have changed the labeling. Good stuff. Been using it the past few years. Much better than the ole merc green stuff.

Yes it is better. I found the quicksilver version on Amazon for $22/qt or $70/gallon. My question has been answered so please no recommendations of other oils! Thanks. I just ordered a gallon and no shipping charge with Amazon Prime.

Check out Walmart for the Quicksilver bottle in quart bottles. Usually between 10 and 12 bucks. Less that 50 a gallon. They usually have both, the one for outboards and the one for sterndrives.

Do they have the 85w-90? I haven't seen it there. Just the old green stuff. It's just now showing up on Amazon.

Another option is a typical GL5 rated oil like Lucas Marine Gear Oil which I use now. See attachment. Much cheaper, especially in a 5 gal pail, about $7.5 qt. Used to use Bel Ray brand before for years with no issues but I believe they stopped selling it. I've also used Bravo Shop gear oil with no apparent advantages and no temperature reduction. Think I'll keep using the stuff that has given me zero issues for couple decades for a third the price. If i thought i needed it, or it would benefit, cost would not even be an issue. Dont need the full synthetics unless your in such an extremely cold climate. Good luck.
