I have a 1999 Auto meter tach/hourmeter combo on twin Gen vi 502's. The hour meter portion will work and count time while running but RESET to ZERO each time I shut down engines. Is there a battery anywhere in the circuit like in GPS units that stores the history? I realize my gal is getting a bit long in tooth but wondering if just a quick fix. I have Merck manual but can't make h or t out of the diagrams. One meter stopped months or so after the first went out and digital readout works fine when running.

Just call Autometer Marine on Monday. I am sure they can tell you what is wrong.
