Ok audiophiles....
My Kenwood head unit gave up the ghost.
The wired remote that is in the swim platform is the oval shaped variety, circa 2007.
So, do today's head units use the same harness for the wired remotes?
I'd prefer to have the remote functioning (because it's already there), and I'd prefer to NOT cut a larger or different shaped hole to replace it (because it's already there).

More than likely this is the unit you had for a transom remote.

These are all of the current marine wired remotes

I went through the same issue with my 2006 model.
I had found a newer unit a couple of years ago that was in fact compatible with it, but never switched it out.
Just for sanity's sake, I would have to recommend you buy a new unit with the USB-outs and just get a new transom remote. The overall fit is a bit different, oval versus more round for the newer one.
Or, go with this older model and save some hassle, but get older features.

$99 can't really go wrong.
