I have just installed a Vesselview 7 and a Lowrance HDS 9 gen 2 Touch. According to Mercury sales litterature the VV7 shall be able to double as chart plotter:

" When paired with a Lowrance or Simrad chart plotter or Mercury NMEA 2000 GPS antenna, display can double as a chart plotter and suppoert Lowrance or Simrad radar, sonar, SonicHub and more"

Well, this does not seem to work, both units are connected with both NMEA 2K and Ethernet, I get engine data from VV7 to HDS ok and viceversa pos and speed from HDS to VV7.

Problem is when I try to use the VV7 as plotter it says it is locked, if I put the Navionics card in the VV7 I can still not see the charts in VV7 but I can see them in HDS....?!

Anyone that can help me out, absolutely no information available from Mercury, and no updates available.

Current software is version 3.0. Navico should be showing version 3.5 at IBEX next week. Their site has 3.0 on it now. 3.5 should be up shortly.

Did update to software 3.5 today. Works perfekt, this unlocks the chart page on the VV7 so that both units shows the map now. Zooming and panning is independent on both screens, beautiful!

Now just waiting for an update for the VV7, have some problems with the touch function being intermittent, I am hoping that to be a software fix.
