Default System View Race Edition - SmartCraft questions

Any gurus on here for the SmartCraft system view? 2007 model, twin 525efi's. I have the Port engine "fuel lvl ckt hi" fault active now. I think it was originally programmed with both fields (strb and port) showing 185 gal fuel capacity. My boat only has one tank. I plan to delete the value in the port field, leaving just strb with the 185 capacity value.

Do you think this will clear the fault code?

Thanks,

I had this same problem. I called Mercury Racing and the tech their told me to run a ground wire with a resister in line and install the ground wire to the fuel number two connector on the factory wiring harness. It worked for me.

man, I had to read that three times to begin to understand it. Im not really savvy when it comes to electronics and such. Did you make this wire, buy it, install yourself? Level of difficulty???? Thanks by the way.

I made it myself. Difficulty level on a scale of 1 to 5 with five being the hardest, it is a one. Take a piece of wire install a ring terminal on one end and install it on a ground. On the other end of the wire install a male bullet end and plug it into the Mercury wire harness at the wire plug marked Fuel 2. Now between the two ends of the wire cut it and solder in a resister of any size (you can get resisters at radio shack or any electronics store). Once you install the resister heat shrink some tubing over the resister and solder joint for protection. Remember to slide the heat shrink tubing over the wire before you solder the resister in. Hope this clears this up for you.

quick update, went into user settings and deleted "fuel" as a tank type for port eng since there is only one take and stbd had "fuel" listed. turned off/on to reset, and whala! Code was gone......
