the guy TECH thought he knew how to do the clear flood mode is the only thing I can think of but the owner of the boat did not know what he was up to., The RPM gauge could have been off because of the pole setting just a hair off. Not sure because the person (boat owner) did not list what type of gauge his boat had. I doubt very much so 100 % being a Tahoe and V-6 mercruiser that he did not have smartcraft gauges. Matter of fact I would bet on it especially being a very very entry level price point Tahoe boat. I bet he had econo Faria gauges in which are notorious for RPM fluctuations. Also the internal ground within the gauge could have some sort of short.
You can not reset the rev limiter - it is merc spec with help from Motorola using ECM 555. for that app V-6 and year model. Now someone who knows how to reflash it can but they need the ECM / PCM. If there is something I missed exactly about your question - just ask. Here is my email. [email protected] Also this and my Am-tech site is the only sites I have posted. I take it you mod iboats ? They asked me to handle their tech questions at the beginning of the year or if I knew anyone that could help up. I passed. Also I am recommended on their dealer installer network thru iboats in which is good for me. Also I have to call them very soon about advertising used boats of mine. Anyways sorry for running the post on. |
Yes they worked with Joe DeMarco and came up with AMTECH Technical Specialist and there is a list of shops that members can look up and use if they need help installing parts or parts they sell.
When the program first came out, roughly five AMTECH's came on the forum to try and help but it didn't work out so well as advice given seemed to clash with other forum members. There's only one that stayed as he's been a member for a while now but he don't post too much. Thanks for your thoughts on the ECM question. Curiosity is getting the best of me on that one. |
Perfect, thanks for taking the time to do the write up, looks like I will need to purchase a different adapter #94020
Thanks! |
Anyone have or know where I could get the #94020 adapter??
|
Did you call Rinda / Diacom its 49 bucks for brand new.
Also do me a favor if you buy anything off of them that John from Boats Unlimited sent you over. |
John- Just got off the phone with Rinda and it turns out they do not stock that adapter anymore.
|
Really, I have always had that adaptor but I know some techs that have bought it not that long ago. U know I just looked at their website and still lists it for sale with the price of 49 bucks. I am sorry my bad. I am heading out of town very early tomorrow mourning and I can see when I get back about a used one. Can not remember if I have a spare one for that adaptor or not. I will ask around as well.

Lakematdude hit my email up with some contact info for U. We know a lot of the same people plus good to talk to someone that did the boating repair end of it for many years. Mark M. is the guy you are talking about still on iboats and he is very sharp about OEM marine stock apps. I talk to him once and while and he told me about the gig on iboats that he was involved in for many years. If I recall his name is MUC on iboats as he told me. He is really sharp about the marine end.
I know Doug D. just gave up with it as well this year for a short period of trying to reply for the tech replies. I heard his side of it also. They asked me to do it with a lot PLEASE could you. I will give you a lot of credit for hanging in there. I have only been to that site around 10 times max. |
