Hello everyone I just bought a 2005 formula 400ss with twin 496’s
I have a 4 or 5” screen on my dash that displays the smartcraft or vesselview readouts (I don’t know if there is a difference or these two names refer to the same component) This screen is pretty faded and almost beyond legible, I was wondering if I could get 2 birds with 1 stone as I am looking to get a new GPS system and was wondering if I were to purchase the Garmin 4212 can this display and work with the smartcraft/vesselview system in a way that will display everything that small 4” monitor is doing…. And ultimately I will no long need to purchase/replace the other small screen?

I'm really hoping that you get some information on this, I'm in the exact same position (but with a 330ss). I have a Smartcraft SC5000 (probably the same thing you have), I was thinking about replacing it with a Simrad NSS7 Evo2 but wasn't sure if I'll lose any functionality... I also have an old Northstar 6000i that I want to replace with a Simrad NSS9 Evo2, ultimately I would like to have 2 matching displays on the dash and do away with the Smartcraft Screen. I know that to pull it off I'll need to build a NMEA2000 network and get a merc. gateway. If you learn anything please share it.

You need a Smartcraft Gateway. They are made for single and dual engine configurations (separate part numbers) They are approx. $350. The Verado Club website has them for this price which is a discounted price. After that pretty simple.
