I asked this question awhile back...never got a response on what everyones doing for one.i may go with the hummingbird helix 5 with the transducer you glue in the hull.i want to see what the bottom looks like for anchoring,and may get out the snoopy fishing rod and catch some perch too...lol

Ive been researching this too and want a GPS w/depth finder/sounder combo so I settled on the Garmin Echomap 73DV, it looks like they have a hull mount transducer available (one in box is transom/trolling motor mount. I will update once I talk back with Garmin and order the transducer.

See my thread on the cig forum. Just installed an in hull garmin on my boat. Put the transponder in the bilge access in front of the first step and so far it's preforming flawless. Maintained bottom lock over 70mph.
