Garmin 720s - Livorsi Speedometer

Hello!

I know there is lot of threads about this and I think I have read all of them but I cant find any good answers.

I know that its possible to connect the Garmin GPS antenna to the Livorsi Speedometer but it doesnt work when I connect the cables.

There is one yellow cable ”NMEA 0183” from the tac gauge. This is the cable you connect to the Livorsi gps antenna and also the cable you want to connect to the blue cable from the Garmin GPS, right?

I have connect the blue and the yellow cable, but it doesnt seem to work.

Thanks!
/Johan

What year is the boat and how old is the LIvorsi. Do you have any pictures of the wiring and the back of the units?

Need to figure out if it is Really NMEA 0183 or 2000. If 0183 you have to configure that in the setup as stock setup is defaulted to NMEA 2000

The boat is a Chris Craft Stinger 260 from 1987, but the engine is a 2003 Mercruiser 496 Mag.
The Livorsi gauges is not that old I think. Everything runs with the SmartCraft.

I have a picture of the backside of the Livorsi Speedo.
I can take more pictures of the wiring and the other gauges tomorrow.

Okey, thank you. I check the Garmin GPS if I can see if its nmea 0183 or 2000. Just follow the instructions in the manual I guess?

I havent tested it yet. I am little bit confused how I should wire the cables and configure the Garmin GPS right.
Is it the yellow cable (from the Livorsi tac gauge) and the blue small cable (from the Garmin GPS) I must connect?
Then configure the gps to nmea 0183?

If you look at my pictures I posted above, is there something I should change in the settings or is it okey?

”Serial port 1 and 2” - ”NMEA standard”?
And is there something special I must configure in the ”NMEA 0183 setup”?

I am not familiar with 0183 wiring as The ones I have delt with run into a junction/geatway box that transfers the data into NMEA 2000 Data.. The Garmin is capable of reading 0183 data. Just have it turned on in the Menu This thread may help you though.
