Best BBC distributor to run with Holley EFI

Hey guys,
Looking to install Holley HP EFI on my 96 Baja 252 this winter, I am going to freshen up my 502 Mag MPI with a bump to a 509 and since it still has the MEFI-2 computer I want to get away from it and run Holley.
What are my distributer/coil options when doing this, curious if anyone has gone down this road in the past?

I have holley efi on my blower motor in mine...do yourself a favor and get the holley distributer and coil. It will tie right in with your efi system and you will have full timing control through the efi...no brainer in my opinion. You can use MSD or any brand of your choosing but I liked the ability of having it all run through the efi for reliability and tuning purposes.

I have the super sniper 2x4 setup...I really like it but being a sniper the tuning is kind of limited compared to other holley systems. Mine is very basic. But that being said..it starts, idles, and runs flawlessly. Only thing I wish I could change would be adding a second IAC valve and the ability to move the MAP sensor. The MAP is potted into one of the throttle bodies which isn't a huge deal as you can plug it off and run an external hose down below the blower to get actual manifold pressure but it would be nice to be able to move it and not have the hose running up to the throttle body. I have CMI e-top headers and they are dry to the tip so I welded bungs right after the collectors in the tailpipes for O2's....so far so good but I do keep an extra sensor on the boat because it's not a matter of if but when the sensor will fail and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I spoke with Holley and they recommended to run their HP system. I am going to run a Mercury 525 intake on my 509, I have been looking to go with a hotter cam so I want to go dry tip as well but my fear is how loud it will be and loosing my silent choice exhaust.
Is the dry tip exhaust that bad? Also Holley mentioned that after the tune is right run Holley in open loop and pull the O2 sensor out not to ruin it as no matter what moisture will eventually cause it to fail.
Are you running a digital dash as well?

My exhaust has a jumper that runs from right in front of the collector and then ties back in right at the exhaust tip and it muffles it a little bit but I will say it's not quiet by any means hahaha. I was told that as well with the open loop thing however my tuner told me to leave it because in open loop the learn function does not work....the way he explained it to me was that running it in open loop without learn is basically like run carbs as the efi can't make any changes based on weather, elevation, etc. I ran a whole season with no O2 issues but like I said I keep an extra on the boat just to be safe.

And no to the digital dash. Just have the small screen that comes with the sniper mounted back in the engine room. The way my dash is setup there's no way I could have made the digital dash work and look right without completely redoing my whole dash.

Makes sense I would prefer to leave it so its constantly adjusting and not just looking at a canned tune. I don't want to change out my dash but I have a blank flat area on my dash that would be perfect for the small screen they have or I do as you did and leave it back by the ECU. I just like to watch the AFR and other critical aspects of the engine in real time that normal gauges don't monitor.

Since my dash was setup for all round normal gauges I just added an innovative wideband O2 gauge and added to extra bungs in my exhaust. I like it also because it's less "busy" than the holley screen and easier to glance over and see on the fly.

Get the Holley dual sync and run CNP. By the time you purchase distributor, ignition box and coil you can go CNP for the same or less cost. Here is a link to my conversion.
