Question Feedback Raymarine Axiom 9

https://www.hodgesmarine.com/raye703...plotter-w.html
I need something better than the dumb Garmin I have.

Do I want to buy this with maps, get my own, do I get the lighthouse, navionics? .. seems to be a lot of options one unit can vary in price quite a bit .
I can`t see this unit anywhere close to me so I`d like some feedback before ordering .

My current unit is the GO7 .. being all touchscreen it can be challenging to operate underway ....

I just installed one on my boat. Happy with it so far, minimal use yet though. It’s easy to use and the Navionics maps are fine. I’ve had no issue with the touchscreen while under way. Just got the Fox-Marine engine gateways too to feed engine data up to it. The internal GPS antenna can take a little while on startup to sync since I flush mounted it in the the dash panel, but I don’t want to mount an ugly external antenna.

Thumbs up

Good deal , I ordered one up. I think the problem with my GO7 is the maps.
Last year I ordered better navionics maps but never got to use them.. this year the maps are definitely better but I want the larger screen.

Nice, good luck with it! The only thing I noticed about the Navionics maps so far is that there aren’t as many depth markings as I’d expect. Especially in areas where I know from experience that the depths vary a lot.

The Go 7 is a simrad.. They make great stuff but the go series is a POS. I have 2 on one of my boats and will be replacing both. I have Simrad nss evo 3's on my other boat and they are great. Friend has a Raymarine and its ok but if you have one of the better transducers with it it can show fish groups. . But the fish groups show up as cartoon fish. its odd.
