I race a sand dragster with a blown-alcohol injected KB hemi, around 1600-1800 depending on tune up. In 300 ft. it will run a 3.0@ 103mph. Any comment or info on what you feel would be the pros and cons between a 26' and 28', Daytona and Profile and what H.P to go for would be very helpful!!

Advantage of 28 is you have twin motors, when one breaks you can make it back on your own. 26 you will be towed. With 28 you will be able to go faster unless you go totally wild in the 26. The 28 is 27 feet & 11 inches so it is only 1foot longer but it is also 6" wider. I have been thinking of getting a 28 but I just can not pull the trigger due to the $ I would be spending.

call mike misplay at eliminator and he can tell you the weight difference. I have never talked to a person with a single engine tall deck 28 that had not been through at least two drives. b max and machine max. Eliminator told me that the 28 was designed for twins.

When I was looking for a boat I wanted to go the 28 with 1 motor. Talked to two people in Houston, One had just put a smaller motor in boat since he was tired of tearing up drives. Other was going thru drives. These were both many years ago before the Bravo X came out so maybe they will work today.

28 TD, big power and a number 5 or 6 drive would be a sweet setup. I have a 25 with 570hp and a black hawk drive and it runs great but I feel I am at the limit of what the drive will take reliably. I talked to a guy who had 1100hp and a number 6 drive on a 25 but he lost a ton of interior space due to the transmission. Only thing between me and a 28 is BIG $$$$$$$ and insurance companies too. It will be sad if insurance forces us back to V's but I can almost see it coming. Only one company in Canada will take on a fast cat these days so guess where the premiums are going.
