powerboat 28 daytona

I have a 2001 28 TD with 496 HO's and lucky to see 90+. What's different about the newer 28's to get those kind of speeds? You've mentioned 100+ with your 28 with 496 HO's. What props do you run, gear ratio, outdrives, x dimension? I would be very impressed if I could get 100+ with my 28 496 HO's.

The best set up is not always the fastest! the fastest setup is with 32p bravo's. The issue with this setup is you need the center tab to get up on plane. The speed takes a while to get there and if you have to get out of the throotles it takes a while to get back to top speed. With 30p bravo's the boat will get on plane easy with full tanks and a load of people and still run high 90's all day.
